Part Two - What if… your age wasn’t a liability?

What if, your age wasn't a liability?

It's like there's this unspoken, unwritten rulebook society has for aging.

Why is a man with grey hair is seen as distinguished, but a woman with grey hair is just seen as, old? It's almost like men gain some sort of respect and charm as they get older, like a fine wine or something.

Women are under extreme pressure to stay forever young. Society, as a whole, has this obsession with youth and beauty that's especially tough on women as they age. This double standard is not just about looks; it's about how women are seen and treated in general.

What if you just said "F**K IT!" This is who I am and I'm perfect. PERIOD! We have battled these expectations long enough.

I recently took stock in myself after both of my parents passed and I realized I've wasted over 40 years of my life trying to live up to someone else's expectations. The worst part, those expectations were assumptions based on all the bullshit fed to us by the media since we were young. (I feel an America Ferrara Barbie moment coming on...) Start the conversation now with your girlfriends, your partners, your husbands, your daughters, your sons and whoever else will listen. DO IT NOW!

If you're feeling not good enough, smart enough, successful enough... I say ENOUGH already. I am enough!

It took me 60 years to realize this. Don't let that much time pass by for you.

Live now, love now, embrace who you are NOW.
